thats the trouble with the new west ham fuck the history fuck the old players while making 100s of millio s of pounds.
He comes over for 1 game so about £60 for a tkt so the fuckinv least the club could do for loyal well loved player is say no worries come and join us in the directors box.

As someone said below, some criteria can be established, like having played a certain number of games.
I'm sure there is a commercial logic in this. For instance, you never know when an ex-player may be in a position to influence a transfer.

Coffee, you raise an interesting question. My answer would be that airline staff work for the company and that “travel” is a contracted perquisite.
However I bet that airline employee could not turn up and blag eight free flights for their mates. So in fact we are not comparing like for like.
Here is another question. Under what basis should a club give free tickets to an ex player and eight others?
For example does the ex player still have an honorary or paid role at the club, simply a regular match day role or no connexion other than simply being an ex player?

If there are places going spare then it's no big deal is it and I'm sure the club would have made the most of his visit.
What wouldn't look good is if another club were happy to welcome him and a few friends without feeling it necessary to earn a few quid.

No problem with Ludo getting a few tickets. A party of 10 might be stretching it a bit though. Also, if nobody knew who it was asking for the tickets, you can’t really blame the club for not giving them away.

Used to be a spot up in the corner of the West Stand at UP that always used to be put by for ex-players or current staff...
That was directly behind us, nearly pissed me pants one game when i got to me seat and Paulo was hanging over the wall !!!

I always thought that one of the better things that Sullivan did was to stop all the ex players poncing free tickets, how many of them now pay to go along? Probably not many. Don't see why ex players should get a freebie when the fans have to pay through the nose, and they generally have a lot less money than the ex players would have.

I'm torn here as i want to say that he should be given free tickets. Perhaps he personally should be given a free ticket.
However as someone else has said it is probably the Czech FA who are paying for the trip and would foot the bill.
I liked the other thing said below where once you have played for the club 150 maybe 200 times then you get a free ticket to a game for life.
Bringing in a ex player membership programme is a nice idea. Could do something the same for supporters that have had a season ticket for x number of years.
i don't know it would just be nice for people that have paid a lot of money to the club continuously for a number of years that they get a little bit of something in return. not a lot, just a thank you.
